Pick Your Pencil! Dust Your Pad!

We suddenly got lazy. With the advent of Digital Art we thought our creativity just got better. Lie, thats what it is.
Everyone with basic understanding of how to use the tools can sit up in front of a computer and think himself creative if he can come up with a design in 15minutes.
I've been out of Graphics Design for years - since I was a young teenager. But I didn't stay aloof. Every once in a while I pick up my nouse and bring my imaginations to life while I work with CorelDRAW - not exactly true, what I've always done was do something I think is good with a concept I pick while I use the tools.

I just found I needed a logo which has to be simple and still captivating to really portray the meaning of the company - so I didn't want to use a font graphics because am going to feel its "heavy" - if you know what I mean.
After I spent about a day without getting what I wanted, I had to allow my imagination to guide me. What I came up with was simple enough and satisfactory. But, the perfect way to make it a picture was my pencil and drawing pad.
Here is a rough of what I came up with,
Quite simple! But it will take a while for my unskillful hand to birth this in a graphics application like CorelDraw for example without having the sketch in the first place.
Thats my point, Digital Arts has the ability to make out works good with all the resolutions and effects it has to offer. But, the best expression of our creative mind is found hen we put our pencils on our pads and make beautiful arts designs. That's organic, woven into our very minds.

Think of such a time when company logos and other designs that have so my=uch depended on digital arts get pencil designed and then maybe a little touch up in an Adobe application.
This is a form of creativity we need to keep, that we need to rebirth or that we should birth afresh.

A guy tgat has this touch in his designs is Kevin Cornell.
So, my creatively creative minded babes and dudes lets Pick Up our Pencils! and Dust our Pads! , for that is our calling we can't afford to fail out.

Use your pencil - and use it wisely!

Just Do It

Just do it, don’t let anyone stop you
Forget it, they will say
So they’ve told others
Some fell into the trap
Some escaped
Each had stories,
If you ask them.

You have a dream
It your highest thought
In your sleep, its what you see
Everything around you, tells you about it
All things inspire you
They tell of the great man you can become
If you do it.

Show me a dreamer
I’ll show you mountains, all around him
Find you an accomplisher,
He’ll tell of challenges surmounted
Those who win the race
Never fail to start
You’re not exempted

Take up your cross,
Follow your dream
Trust ye in God
And He’ll take you there
Your greatest thought
Your highest dream
Never you give up on it.

Isn’t Fair

When did it become fun for programmers to make fellow programmers’ lives difficult?
I jist don’t get it.
Ain’t we suppose to be brothers?
Ain’t we suppose to look after one another?
Why did we come up with Standardization in the first place?
Was it a lie when everyone said yes to it in the first place?
Maybe we should just dissolve every Consortium that manage programming standards. Then we’ll all know we’re out in the wild - I can’t even imagine what disaster that would cause.
When I started using computers, I loved Microsoft, but becoming a web developer now I’m rethinking the love thing.
Microsoft just isn’t following the Standards and its making our lives difficult.
It just isn’t fair!

A GOOD UNDERSTANDING

Feature scripting and designing on the web are not so hard when you have a clear understanding of your "baby feature". The moment an idea comes to you the next thing for you to do is not to try and design or script it.
  • Relax and don't let the idea fly off.
  • Picture it in your mind.
  • Focus on the details
  • You need to seet it clearly, like what you've seen before.
  • Implement it in your mind in every detail.
  • Does it work?
  • Then by all means Give Birth to it.
A good understanding of your idea makes it easier and faster to bring it to life.
Good luck to you as you dream, envision and imaginate ...

Design Concepts

The way of web designing - even every kind of graphics design - is one that cuts across many oceans. You can also view it from different perspectives. In any case, graphics designing either for the web or any platform gets better in your mind when you are viewing it from an outside perspective not when you are actually doing the design because, then, you can’t really tell in which direction your design is headed. So sometimes you need to stand afar and view other people’s work and try to see what the up and the down side of it are. Then with this in mind you can simply look into your own design. More than that

design comes more to life when you already understand what you want to do both in concept and in any case being knowledgeably prepared to do a brand for what you’re designing.

It’s about holding the concept in your head and looking at various possibilities before actually going out to work on it.

Trust in You

I was working one day when a call came in from a friend, he asked if I could write a program for him. He was going to use it in a bigger application he was contracted to develop. I told when I see him we could do it together.
I saw him the next day and he told me he had to give up because he thought it was not possible to perform the operation he told me to do. I simply told him i'll look into it.

It took me 15 minutes to working with the API to develop a prototype of what he wanted.
He saw the code latter...

There's notting that is impossible in this life. Whatever you have before you that seem insurmountable is only waiting for you to put up a will.
If you have the will to do something whatever the cost, you'll find in the end that what seem impossible was the easiest you have ever done.
It all runs down to the question, "do you believe in yourself?"
You need to Trust in You, that you can do all things. You have got the strength deep inside you, but you may have to burrow through to where you kept that power.

So, I want you to always remember that if ;
  • You trust in You
  • You can do all things
  • You have strength, deep inside
  • Search through yourself
  • And you will find that power

Pride

“Cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give His angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou shall dash thy foot against a stone.” – Matthew 4:6

However you see it, that’s going extreme with your privileges. Just that the angels would catch doesn’t mean you should go ahead and have a fall. You will not only hit your foot against a stone, but you shall surely break your legs.

Jesus answered well, “don’t tempt me”.

Verse 7

“Thou shall not tempt the Lord, thy God.”

Don’t allow anyone push you to misuse (or over use) what privilege/authority that God has given you.

Deal with your pride, for pride has killed many a giant.
